Hi friend,
It’s been a little quiet over here lately — I’ve skipped the last couple Handmade Weekend notes because I’ve been deep in something exciting: a redesign of my blog! It’s not totally finished yet, but it’s live if you want a peek. You can see the updates here — think cleaner, cozier, and more aligned with the kind of grounded, beautiful life I want to share with you.
As I worked on the redesign, I kept coming back to this idea: What do I actually want to offer in this season of life? What do I want to make by hand — not just with yarn or flour, but with intention? This newsletter is one of those things, and I’m so grateful you’re here.
And now, it’s Mother’s Day weekend — a time that can be sweet, complicated, full of memories or longing or celebration. Whether you’re a mother, missing a mother, mothering others, or simply showing up for yourself each day, I hope this weekend brings some gentleness your way.
🍲 What’s On My Table
If you’re baking for or with someone this weekend, these Chocolate Betty Crocker Spritz Cookies are sweet, nostalgic, and surprisingly simple. A perfect Mother’s Day project with kids, or a quiet Saturday baking moment just for you.

✨ Tip: Use a piping bag if you don’t have a cookie press!
🧺 Try This: One Simple Weekend Habit
Put your phone down for 2 hours and make something with your hands.
Not to post it. Not to finish it. Just to do it. Do it with others or just by yourself.
Ideas:
- Make a tiny flower arrangement in a teacup
- Knead dough or make a batch of simple flatbreads
- Doodle or knit or mend something with visible stitches
Let it be imperfect. Let it be yours. If you want to share, email me what you ended up making.

“Homemade-ish” by Alana Chernila
This one’s perfect for a weekend like this: full of from-scratch recipes that don’t feel precious or fussy, just lovingly made. I’ve been rereading it while thinking about the new direction of my blog — it really captures that beautiful middle ground between homemade and human.
